When Christmas is getting near we have a date: the “Pedra d’Agramunt Nougat and Chocolate Fair” in Lleida is one of the leading food events in the cakes and pastries industry in Catalonia and has been held every year since 1988. Originally it was a nougat market for the area’s characteristic product, but it was so successful that the following year it was opened up to other sectors and the first combined event was held. This year’s was the twenty-nine.
There is always a range of product-related activities at the fair including product tastings and guided wine tastings which take place in a variety of venues. There are also the traditional product stands which display nougat and chocolates along with all kinds of sweet products.
Birba was at one of the venues with a stand we ran in conjunction with El Celler d’en Joan where visitors could try our products including our Nuria biscuits, assortments and range of specialities, thus bringing our own sweet touch to the weekend.
